Porsche 108 Junior Tractor for sale

This wonderful Porsche Junior Tractor (Chassis no. K12670G) is red with a cream suspended sprung seat and has a 822cc single-cylinder air cooled diesel engine developing 14 bhp.

Ferdinand Porsche started designing tractors as far back as the 1930's. His Volk-schlepper (people's tractor) concept followed many similar principles to his Volkswagen (peoples car). No serious production began before World War II and regulations prevented Porsche from building tractors until after the war had ended. In 1956 a licensing agreement with the well respected engineering company Allgaier led to the Porsche tractor entering production in the Mannesmann AG of Friedrichshafens re-developed and newly expanded ex-Zeppelin airship factory.

Mannesmann had purchased the rights to the innovative Porsche air cooled engine design and the existing Allgaier tractor concept. Production ran until 1963 with 4 basic models available all of which shared the same individual and interchangable cylinder and head units to allow a range of engine sizes and power outputs.

This example features hand and foot throttles, independent rear brakes, passenger seat, electric start, 3- point hydraulic linkage, rear draw bar, front and rear tow hitch, road legal lights, horn and front & rear power take off units. It has been fully restored and serviced with parts sourced from Germany and surely must be the perfect mode of transport for those important jobs around the garden - whatever the size. It's also a fabulous piece of Porsche history.
